this year's workshop was attended by SM Lodge, SMB St Joseph and the organizing school SMK Green Road. 80% of the participants were lodgians while st jo and grss only sent one team. Eventhough the turn out was less than expected with Ghapor and BL pulling out d week before, it was nevertheless a fun, memorable experience. We lost the demo on the motion "THBT Bloggers are more Influential than the Media"..which was an ironic motion to do cuz all six of us debating up there were bloggers =3

i was showering this afternoon..and i realise how happy and excited i get when i squeeze the bottle of body foam and dozens of little bubbles come popping out:)

when my mom starts talking alot in the morning, it annoys me cuz i'm not a morning person. we can't all be =.= so when she realises that i am not even attempting to continue the conversation, she turns on the stereo in her car..but instead of pressing the button to play her oldies CD, she hits the radio button instead, and jason mraz's "im yours" starts playing and that makes me HAPPIEEEE~ :D :D :D :D :D

Guess which is which? LOL. getting twin presents is hard..i had to get them the same thing without having it be the same thing or something that they would fight over. So i got them each a giftbag with same things generally but different patterns and colour. the elder one took the pink package while the younger one took the blue. Personality difference? LOL.

Isn't it strange how so many people can be born on the same day as you?? I got a pretty cool birth date..31st july. Which is the last day of the month. Which is the same birth date as J.K.Rowling, Harry Potter and Josh Harnett *drool*

What Road?

i am deprived of sleep.

Period.

But this shall not be a ranting post, this shall be about the Sarawak Secondary School Band Competition 2008 conveniently held at the MBKS Hockey Stadium, Kuching. Eileen and I went as photographers for the school magazine, but in the end turned out more to be food carriers and ultimately, supporters=)

6 schools participated this year. St Joseph's Miri, Columba, St Joseph's Kuching, SMK Green Road, SMK Bintulu, and Chung Hua Miri. This was the order of the performances that night as well, with st jo miri starting off the night in black and white, while defending champs Chung Hua Miri ended the night in red,gold and white.

As Kuchingnites, we (greenians and josephians) stuck by each other through and through. Sitting next to each other and cheering on for each other's schools.

I spent the whole day with the band from the 7.30am rehearsals to the last minute haircuts. Long story short, i had a new-found respect for them=)

Our school band worked hard and every one of them deserves the utmost respect from us and also the support.

I think if there was an award at the end of the year for "Best School Spirit", our school should probably get it. Hands down. Debate finals in Swinburne--40 supporters. Debate finals in Sematan--40 supporters. Band Competition--50?? maybe 70?? supporters. Our school even arranged a bus of supporters to send them up to the stadium at 4.30 and back to school at 12midnight to cheer on our school team. And we're a BLOODY POOR GOVERNMENT SCHOOL!! PLUS THERE WAS SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY!!

That atmosphere that night was really crazy though:) Sitting next to the josephians was an ear-blasting situation with their horns and whistles at the ready, it was like a New Year's Eve Countdown Party!! Either that or a football match.

Well, imagine that situation multiply 10 gazillion times.
Cuz that's what happened after they won=)

Eventhough our school did not grab the honours of top 3 (st jo kuching 1st, chung hua miri 2nd, st jo miri 3rd), i was still incredibly proud of all of them for putting up a good show. The competition was tight, but it is what it is. Things got emotional after the competition, but the mindset was to work harder for next year. I am sure not one of the green road supporters cheering up in the stands felt dejected that night. I cheered and gave St Jo a standing ovation during their encore performance, because they deserved the title.

Hmm..green road has gotten alot of second place awards this year..including the latest:

Green Road School Choir--runner-ups in the inter-division choir competition.

i have a theory...i believe that green road somehow always end up at the runner-up position this year for a reason..and it's not because we're the first losers=.= When i met Ryner at the illusions concert, i stated that i kept seeing him degrading me everywhere lately. He said that it was the will of God. I presume he meant that when we meet people that are better, it reminds us of how we can do better if we work harder??? O.o i have no idea. My theory sounds better=)

my theory is that it's because we have that right attitude and win or lose, nothing changes.

It absolutely sucks when you face someone who cannot face losing. It does. Kiasu-ism and all. They start making up fake theories and accusations as to why you won and that it wasn't because you were better. I think they're just in self-denial about themselves. You win some, you lose some..if you have the right attitude and energy, winning seems secondary compared to the other things like the experience and the memories you gained.

Even so, we would like to win some time =)


Congratulations to the Choir and Good Job to band for putting up a good show and making our school proud:)

the forgotten

i guess they're days that you just don't get it right?

or days that you're wondering wtf am i doing???

and sometimes days where you sit silently in the corner and watch people's lives pass by you.

Hell, some days you just don't care anymore.

First day of school was pretty bad. but i tried not to care. Going back was as scary as i thought. Test papers were saddening (more so than before), people seem to pass out wrong information like free petrol during the holidays, and friendships were awkward after a long time apart.BUT GUESS WHAT? FOR ALL THAT ENERGY THAT I SAVED NOT PUNCHING EVERYONE IN THE ROOM, I'VE TURNED IT INTO SOLAR ENERGY AND NOW I GLOW!!!XD

And i just wanna say to Pei Yi that i LOVE YOU SO MUCH for being such a good friend and sticking by me and offering to spread glue on my hand so when mr ang rotans, it won't hurt :D but i'm also SO SORRY that i was so busy running around the staffrooms today. I'll make it up to you, i promise=)

I slept for only 4 hours the night before the first day of school but i was awake than tuesday morning when i basically dragged myself out of bed and into the car. but THANK GOODNESS ida was back!!!

I taught Pei Yi how to write chinese (AGAIN) after stopping classes for over a year. she couldn't even write my name now=.=" Anyways, we used her new found knowledge to write sentences like "yew li jue de lao shi xu yao qu tiao" LOL. That's for being so patronizing, ms yong!!
